Texas Gov. Abbott calls National Guard, Space Force proposal a 'power grab'

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott powerfully opposed a connection that could displacement members of the Air National Guard to roles successful the Space Force without the consent of their respective governors.

In a missive to President Biden, Abbott, who has clashed with the commander-in-chief connected a fig of matters, said the connection is an "intolerable threat" to the National Guard.

In April, Abbott and dozens of different governors wrote Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin calling for the discontinuation of LP480. 

They argued it would weaken oregon bounds their authorization and endanger readiness and the ratio of National Guard units.
